Frequently Asked Questions
What are your presentations like?
I’ve made it my mission for the last 15 years to do one thing: show today’s students and graduates how to find an inside edge in the job market. With that in mind, all of my material is centered around the lessons I’ve learned interviewing and hiring young people over the course of my career.
I learned a long time ago that classroom-style lectures weren’t going to get it done. That’s why all of my presentations and workshops are designed to be as fun and engaging as they are informative. I want everyone who hears me to have a good time — and to leave with the skills and confidence to go and get a great job in today’s competitive market.
What will it cost to have you speak on our campus?
You can get a complete list of my fees by contacting my office at 763-241-7675 or info@maynespeaker.com, but the short answer is that they are very similar to what you’d expect to pay for any professional speaker.
Due to the tough budgetary climate that I know most schools and student groups are facing at the moment, I’ve decided to continue discounting my presentations through the 2010 – 2011 academic year. Please contact my office for the details on these price breaks, as well as information on ways that other groups have found funding for their programs.
How far in advance do you book dates?
I’ve scheduled presentations as far out as a couple of years, and as close as a few days away. If you have a date, or set of dates, that you’re considering, the best thing to do is contact my office and place a hold. You’re not obligated to hire me, but you will get first priority on your reserved dates. Contact us for details.
Where can I see all of your topics?
We’ll be more than happy to send you a current topic list, or discuss a theme that might be right for your ideas. I tailor all of my presentations, so don’t worry if you don’t see exactly what you’re looking for — chances are I can design a program that’s right for you, and we can go over the details before you schedule me for your school.
How long are your presentations?
Most of my keynotes are between 60 and 90 minutes, although I’m always happy to work around your schedule. Some audiences prefer speeches, while others are better suited to longer interactive workshops, or events split between two or more locations.
What are the next steps if we’re interested in bringing you to our campus?
That’s easy. Simply contact my office for more information. We’ll be happy to tell you about my programs, discuss an open date, or work with you to fit a presentation into your school or group’s budget.
